The Constitution of the United States of AmericaThe Constitution is an official United States document that establishes the goals of our country. The Constitution contains seven separate articles that provide many purposes. It establishes the duties and boundaries of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, declares the relationship between the state and federal governments, and states how to amend the Constitution. Established and put into effect on March 4, 1789, the Constitution remains the supreme law of the land today.
